Introducing our Food is Fun Academy

 

At Murray's Cheese Boot Camp in New York City. 

Richard and I recently returned from our experience at Murray's Cheese Boot Camp in New York City truly inspired to offer our customers more opportunities to learn, try new things, and taste lots of good food, wine and spirits. 

As we were on the plane flying home, I thought about what Lark, Sandwich Bar and Lark Market is all about -- and that's discovering new, delicious stuff. And the name Food is Fun Academy popped into my head as an umbrella for the many things we want to do this year. 

We will be adding paid, limited attendance cheese and charcuterie board classes, wine and cheese pairing classes, wine tastings and more to the schedule starting in March, so look for those. You will be able to register on Eventbrite.

If you have a small local food business and are interested in offering a class through us, please contact me at joan@larkjanesville.com. We will only be offering food and beverage-related classes.

In the meantime, all of the following offerings are free with no reservations necessary. We look forward to seeing you this spring!

4- 6 pm, Friday, March. 24: Tinned Fish Friday

Learn how to put together the perfect Tinned Fish Date Night feast. Try our selection of Spanish tinned seafood paired with delicious Spanish wines. All featured products are 20% off.

3 - 5 pm Saturday, March 25: Cheese & Charcuterie Board Class

Let us teach you how to create a delicious and beautiful charcuterie board during this demonstration class. Sit back, enjoy, learn, nosh and drink. This is a ticketed event. Space is limited.

April

Noon - 2 pm, Saturday, April 1: Pairing Cheese Part 1

Fresh off our Murrays’ Cheese Boot Camp experience, we’ll give you tips on how to pair cheese with wine.  Nibble on some cheese and try wine samples!

10 - Noon, Saturday, April 15: Nordskov Coffee Pop-Up

 Ryan and Sheryl will be back to make you a delicious cup of coffee and we'll have pastries from The Sweet Spot Bakehouse in Whitewater.

11 am - 2 pm, April 22: Deliciouser Cooking Demo

Our friends from The Deliciouser, a small-batch spice blend and seasoned salt company located in Madison, will be in the shop cooking some tasty treats and sharing recipes.

Mom deserves better than crappy orange juice and cheap champagne. Let us show you how to make some delicious cocktails with bubbly that will be perfect for Mother’s Day brunch.

Noon - 2 pm, Saturday, May 13: Pairing Cheese Part 2

Fresh off our Murrays’ Cheese Boot Camp experience, we’ll give you tips on how to pair cheese with a variety of foods. Lots of good stuff to try. BJ from Quince & Apple and Potter’s Crackers will be on hand to sample their products.
